BIOGARPHY
Some things never really leave you. They just wait for the right moment to return.
First crossing paths in the summer of 1993, the two musicians behind Of Ghosts and the Machine quickly discovered a shared desire to make music. Back then, one handled guitars and vocals, while the other brought the synthesizers. Together, they wrote a collection of songs that would eventually find their way back into the world—reimagined, reworked, and given a new life decades later.
Built around a collaborative spirit rather than a traditional band lineup, Of Ghosts and the Machine blends alternative sounds with a melancholic edge, atmospheric textures, and a distinctly analog soul. It's music shaped by time, memory, and the strange feeling of reconnecting with something you thought you'd left behind.
For now, the project exists somewhere between collaboration and something more tangible. A live presence may emerge when the time is right. Until then, the music speaks for itself.
Born from a friendship that began in 1993, Of Ghosts and the Machine looks toward North America and beyond, making music for anyone drawn to the beautiful, the broken, and the ghosts that never quite disappear.
Somewhere between the shadows of the past and the pulse of the present lies the sound of Of Ghosts and the Machine. Rooted in alternative music, our sound moves between melancholic introspection and dark, powerful intensity. Atmospheric melodies, expressive guitars, layered synthesizers, and a certain sense of unease come together to create something familiar, yet difficult to pin down.
There’s a hint of another era in the music—the warmth, imperfections, and character of old analog recordings—meeting the precision and possibilities of modern digital production. We draw from the past without trying to recreate it, building songs that feel timeless rather than tied to a particular decade.
Our approach is hands-on and personal. From the first idea to the final mix, every song grows through human performance, creative decisions, and countless small details that give it a life of its own. Technology is part of the process, but the heart of the music remains unmistakably human.
With one foot in alternative rock tradition and the other somewhere beyond the horizon, Of Ghosts and the Machine is made for open roads, late-night drives, empty landscapes, and those moments when the world goes quiet but the mind refuses to follow.
Music for the restless. For the nostalgic. For those who find a strange kind of comfort in the dark.

JayBEE, "THE MACHINE"
synthesizer, drums
A shadow in the background, a presence on his own terms. He appears when the music calls and disappears before anyone can ask too many questions. Responsible for synthesizers and drums, he prefers to let the sounds speak for themselves. No name, no spotlight, no explanations. Some mysteries are better left unsolved.
